David Lockhart

Chief Executive

A solicitor and Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in UK commercial property. Previously Chief Executive of the listed property company Halladale which he founded in 1991, grew rapidly to create a business with total assets under management and development of circa £1.5bn and masterminded the sale to Stockland in 2007. An experienced and successful entrepreneur having founded several property businesses across the UK.

Mark Davies

Finance Director

Mark Davies has over 10 years experience in the property industry. He started his property finance career with Grant Thornton before joining Pannell Kerr Foster (PKF) as a Partner and Head of Real Estate. Prior to joining NewRiver as Finance Director in October 2009 Mark was Chief Financial Officer of Exemplar Properties and Finance Director of Omega Land which was a £400m property joint venture with Morgan Stanley Real Estate funds. Mark has experience in many areas of property finance including acquisitions, hedging, foreign currency, Onshore and Offshore tax structuring and managing debt finance on investment and development property. Mark also has experience in large development schemes up to 1m sq ft and office development schemes up to £200m as well as working on large retail assets such as Bluewater shopping centre.

Allan Lockhart

Property Director

Allan has over 20 years’ experience in the UK real estate market specialising in the retail sector. He started his career with Strutt & Parker in 1988 advising major property companies and institutions on retail investment and development. In January 2002, Allan was appointed as retail director to Halladale and was responsible for coordinating the acquisition and implementation of the asset management strategies of over 20 shopping centres as well as acquiring and completing several profitable retail developments.

Nick Sewell

Director

Nick is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 14 years of retail commercial property experience. Specialising in high street, shopping centre and foodstore investments Nick has provided investment valuation and strategic advice around the acquisition and sale of property assets. Nick spent five years at Dalgleish, the specialist property consultancy and following its acquisition by CB Richard Ellis in 2005 he spent four years as a Director in Retail Capital Markets.

Robert Pennington

Senior Asset Manager

Robert is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 20 years property experience working at Strutt & Parker. Robert spent the first 10 years there within the landlord and tenant department specialising in retail rent review and lease renewals. During the subsequent 10 years Robert worked within the retail investment and development team where he was involved in the sale and acquisition of shopping centre and high street retail investments. Major clients include Alanis, Axa REIM, Aviva, Development Securities, The Mall Fund and Standard Life.

Charles Spooner

Senior Asset Manager

Charles has over 10 years experience in the real estate investment and asset management sector.
Charles has benefited from the broad experience as an asset manager at F&C REIT and RREEF, on an advisory capacity at Cushman Wakefield and as a retailer advising Specsavers on their investment agency and development activity.

Stuart Mitchell

Asset Manager

Stuart is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 7 years commercial property experience, specialising in the retail sector. Upon graduating in Land Management from Reading University he started his career at Fuller Peiser and following its acquisition by BNP Paribas Real Estate he qualified in the retail agency department. He then spent a further 3 years in the retail investment department as a senior surveyor advising on sales and acquisitions of high street and retail warehouse investment property. Stuart is responsible for acquisitions, disposals and implementation of asset management strategies.

Francois Nairac

Project Manager

Francois has 25 years experience in real estate starting his career as a chartered structural engineer with Over Arup & Ptns.

Prior to joining NewRiver, Francois managed a large variety of developments in most sectors including retail, residential and hotels. At Halladale he acted as project manager on a number of shopping centres.

Charles Occhino

Financial Controller

Charles is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and has over 6 years experience in the finance industry.
Whilst completing his qualification, Charles worked in public practice specialising in Business Services and Corporate Tax providing advice for leading property and retail clients.

Prior to joining NewRiver in February 2010, Charles was the Financial Controller at Native Land Limited and worked on a number of large projects including the NEO Bankside development in a joint venture with Grosvenor.

Kevin Dhami

Investment Analyst

Kevin has a BSc in Mathematics and Economics, an MA in Finance and Investment and is a qualified chartered accountant with over 7 years experience in the finance industry. He started his career with Pannell Kerr Foster (PKF) completing his training within the Corporate Finance division . Prior to joining NewRiver as Investment Analyst in June 2010 Kevin was an Associate at Exemplar Properties where he worked on investment and development projects. Kevin has particular experience with financial modelling and appraisals, investment analysis and asset valuations. Kevin will co-ordinate and produce all of the cash flows and development appraisals for the project.

Kathleen Sams

Financial Accountant

Kathy is currently studying towards her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification and has 6 years experience in the property industry.

Prior to joining NewRiver in October 2010, Kathy was the Senior Client Accountant at MJ Mapp Ltd managing large portfolios such as Covent Garden for Liberty International and Invista.

Louise Corrigan

Financial Accountant

Louise holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Louise qualified within the audit department of BDO Dublin, gaining exposure to a broad range of industries from owner managed to multi – national companies.

Prior to joining NewRiver Retail in October 2011 Louise worked within the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) department of Allied Irish Bank.

Louise has over 13 years’ experience of working in the property sector having worked at executive level for DTZ in both the Investment and Corporate Finance departments.

Isabelle Richter

Isabelle has 4 years’ experience working for the Property Industry, having worked for Develica and LXB Properties Isabelle joined NewRiver mid-2011.

Charlene Doughty

Property Secretary

Charlene has 11 years experience working in the property sector starting her career in residential with Fairview New Homes before joining Halladale’s Retail Team and now working with the NewRiver Property Team.

Lucy Mitchell

Marketing Manager

Lucy joined NewRiver Retail in 2011 with over four years marketing experience, specialising in digital communications and event management. Beginning her career at the digital advertising agency Zed Media, and latterly ZenithOptimedia when they merged, both part of Publicis Group, Lucy worked across a portfolio of blue-chip clients namely BT, Aviva and Qantas. She later joined start-up drinks company Vita Coco as their Marketing Executive, working on strategic brand amplification, executing brand partnerships, consumer and trade events and building the social media strategy. Lucy is responsible for the delivery of NewRiver Retail’s corporate and shopping centre marketing strategies.
