C-store development programme

We have an agreement with the Co-op to deliver up to 40 convenience stores ('c-stores') primarily on surplus pub land. During the year to 31 March 2019, we delivered our 25th c-store and were the Co-op's largest single developer of new c-stores. 

These stores are let on fixed lease terms of 15 years at rents ranging from £15.00-£17.50 per sq ft, with RPI-linked increased capped at 4% and collared at 1%. The agreement also includes performance receipts linked to c-store delivery, with the first receipt triggered by the deliver of our 15th c-store to the Co-op, which took place in January 2018.

Shavington's Co-op

Opening of our 21st c-store in Shavington, Cheshire
In November 2018, the Co-op opened its 21st c-store developed by NewRiver in Shavinton, Cheshire, on land adjacent to The Vine pub. The c-store was the first in the Co-op estate to integrate several new design features aimed at enhancing the customer experience and accelerating the store fit-out process.
