Scotland’s Town of the Year 2025 - Paisley

The historic town of Paisley has been recognised as Scotland's Town of the Year 2025 for its “remarkable revival”, and we’re proud that our shopping centre, The Piazza, located in the heart the town centre, has been a part of that journey.

This recognition from the ‘Scotland Loves Local’ awards reflects years of strategic investment and historic restoration from Renfrewshire Council to transform Paisley into a thriving town centre. The £65 million renovation of its local museum, investment into the town hall, arts centre and library, together with a £85.5 million secondary school development and significant housing projects have all contributed to revitalising the Paisley community.

Transformed into an industrial town in the 18th Century through its textiles mills, exporting products all over the world, Paisley gained global fame in the fashion and design world through the infamous ‘Paisley’ pattern, the tear-drop shaped design first used as part of the Paisley weavers' shawls.

As well as welcoming 20 new independent retailers to the town, Paisley also hosts various annual events such as a Food and Drink Festival, CarFest, and a two-day Halloween Festival.

Reflecting on our 14 years of ownership, The Piazza has a mix of high-quality independent and national retailers that complement the wider town centre, providing the local community with a range of essential goods and services to local families.

This accolade is a powerful reminder of what's possible when collective stakeholders come together to deliver vibrant, accessible community spaces where people genuinely want to shop, work and spend their time.
